Working with a diverse mix of organisations across the arts, heritage and cultural sector, I support leaders and teams to devise strategies to achieve their ambitions.
I specialise in marketing and audience development, digital audience strategy, earned income and membership growth, leadership and organisational development.
I offer bespoke support for individuals (as a mentor, critical friend, trainer etc.), for teams (through training or facilitation), and for organisations (running development programmes or carrying out consultancy projects), all focused on helping organisations to matter more to more people.
Enabling teams to do brilliant work together is at the heart of a lot of my strategy and consultancy work:
‘Just a note to say how brilliant the evaluation framework is proving. The team are finding it really straightforward to use and reports area so very insightful. I love that we can do this all ourselves.’ [Hilary Carty, Executive Director, Clore Leadership]
I have a deep knowledge of the scope and potential of marketing and digital development and bring a mix of tried and tested tools, techniques, and frameworks, alongside lots of examples of what works (and what doesn’t!) to spark your imagination.
When I’m not at my desk working on something geekily analytical or strategic for a client you can often find me exploring my more creative side in the garden and greenhouse, or visiting a theatre or gallery.
I love sharing my creative passions with others and my personal Instagram account @aldridgejulie, is full of relaxing moments from the garden, and now has an engaged community of over 100K followers.
Prior to becoming a consultant, I had the honour of being Executive Director of the AMA for over a decade enabling arts professionals across the UK and beyond to reach and engage more audiences, visitors and participants. While there, I led conferences, launched AMA Retreats – strategic marketing and leadership programmes, and developed innovation hubs exploring new thinking in digital marketing and audience diversity. During my time as director, AMA membership, turnover and staff all trebled in size.
